New info at other blog.

matt has posted at Great Minds.
go give a pat on the back!

I am happily busy working on a HUGE project in the planning, design, sketch phases.
Praying earnestly that God will continue to speak to me, and work through me,
and that others will come to know Him by my faithful acts of service and kindness, and my verbal witness to the Truth.

If your are happy and optomistic about the future...

Plant a tree.
if you are Nuts, like me ( just ask the squirrels)
you will plant 22 trees this weekend!
10 Poplar - 12 Colorado Blue Spruce.

This will make me really happy,
Maybe it will make AlGore happy, too.
Do you wanna bet I will plant more trees in my lifetime than he and Hillary put together?

then I have 50 summer bulbs to find a place for.
THANK GOD for gardening supply catalogs,
I am close to being in heaven
Seems like praying and hearing God talk are easier when you are on your knees, putting something beautiful in the ground.

one of many talents

a friend of Hannah's plays violin
at the spring concert

my interview questions

I visited contemblogging, and requested an interview, and here it is:

Suzanne: Hey thanks for stopping by. I tried to read some of your blogs first so I would know who I was talking to. Here goes....and happy blogging.

1. You keep 4 Blogs! How in the world do you find the time to post on them all, and which one was your first blog?
David: Well, I rarely sleep more than five hours a night, and I do have Matt to help post on the ADHD blog, Concrete coutertops is a work related blog, mostly pictures, so that is easy. Sugarloaf Mtn is my first and favorite, and I need to WRITE more to it, but life is so fun and exciting right now, I blog when I can, I live the rest of the 19 waking hours of the day.

S: You work in construction right? Have you ever hurt yourself really bad? ( I saw the photos of the nails through the skulls! yikes!)
I LOVE that picture - and I have worked with stupid guys that have hurt themselves or others badly. Once when I was doing a favor for a window cleaner guy I slashed a 1.5 inch cut in my forearm with a razor window scraper, another time I nicked my thumbnail with a Skilsaw. No big stuff , Thank the Lord, in heaven, who preserves me for better things with all ten fingers intact!

S: You are a Leo. Here's a blurb about Leo's. "Leos like to live like a king. (according to the stereotype of course) You are a very ambitious person and want to rise to the top in the profession of your choice. You have been blessed with a strong personality, which can take you places if you so desire. You are logical in your approach to most things but sometimes you get so confused over the small issues.
What kind of small issues confuse you?

D: Suzanne, really, astrology!? That is so Nancy Reagan! I live for the moment, I have ADD (bad!) and give thanks for the creativity and nuttiness it adds to my life. people around me adapt, or run for cover. The big issues are settled: When I die I go to heaven, and I will only worship God, not money. OOOO, i just read that again, I DO LIKE to live LIKE A KING! hmm.... now you got me contemblogging!

S: I haven't read State of Fear, but I would like to. What's the synopsis and your opinion.
I love that the research done for the book is referred to in the appendix, so its a fictional account of ecological idealism run amok, but it seems like it could happen. He is such a talented writer, reading him makes me want to try writing a book.

S: If I was going hiking at Big Bear Lake, where would you advise us to go?
Hike to The Teddy Bear Restaurant!
After a short stack of hotcakes, mosey across town to the Eastside Book Cafe and check your email, while having yummy coffee, then for altitude and views, hike north from highway 38 up to the Pacific Crest trail junction. AFterwards Hike to the creek runner lodge and soak in a hot bath.

There you go. That should keep you busy for a blog post!

Thanks again for playing,
Suzanne

Thanks to suzanne for the great questions. and thanks to my faithful readers for waiting a long time between posts! Its a very alive time in my life, and I am busy lliving it and dreaming of great things, and gardening!!!!

My friend, Hope.

Hope has been with me for a very long time, so I thought I would write her a poem:

Hope woke me up today,
sounding like a flight of geese headed north
the air was filled with excitement and unlimited possibility

Hope is the one that never quits,
never tires, always keeps looking ahead for me
When I have no plans, a day with her is enough

Her call is rustling through the barren trees
telling me of warmer days, star filled nights
She is blowing the last of the winter chill away

Hope whispers to me that life is so much more than I have seen or heard
she lends her strength to my upward climb
Waiting for me at the summit

Hope comforts me with caresses, soft and rhythmic,
like the lapping of gentle waves on the lake shore

Hope remains when foolish desire has faded
and youthful enthusiasm wanes
Ever rejoicing to make me smile again

Hope is at every trail's end, a boulder upon which
I must sit and appreciate the view and the effort made to attain it
Hope is my resting point, my renewal this day.

Full week, little sleep

long days, much work satisfaction
learning new things
and behaving more like an adult than I have in 15 years
( this is so creepy!)

but
God is blessing,
and the Bookins people keep mailing me good books
( I am after more audio books to listen to at work)

three guesses who the young kid is????

go read, rejoice!

Minerva.

Oh, Man!

I am in L O V E with my new tile saw.
its HUGE, and has so many functions and tricks
and will allow me to become
a really good tile artist
and make a great wage.
It's a new tool toy,
which every working man needs
once in a while.

I start a new job in 6 days,
pray for me that I will be God's representative on that job site and will
hear from God and speak to others about Him in an effective
and compassionate way.

My other blog has a picture of me installing my mom's new stackable washer and dryer. ( sorta)
Busy day today. God's blessings to you.

Madness, to be sure

I used to be addicted to Marijuana - yes it is habit forming AND a gateway drug
and then I was hooked on Mickey's Malt liquor.
For a while I would say that I was dependent on the "high" that charismatic worship gave me.
I have always been attracted like a moth to a flame to girls, and figure I never will beat that addiction.
But my new fix, like I got to have soome RIGHT NOW is books. Yar!
so I am going over to Bookins.com to check and see what is in the mail for me this week.
You should go too. I will bet that you have books you want to trade and that I or someone like I would enjoy getting them into our ink stained hands. So go, look at a book - you'll be hooked.

Gangland wars - and books

We struck hard at the gang invading our "turf"
we took out one of their big players...
theme from the Godfather begins to play in background.

when you see them coming at you you gotta hit 'em
and hit 'em hard, So we killed off their grandmother.
and then to show 'em we meant business,
we dumped her by the side of the road
for the coyotes to eat.
chuckles
Now this morning they hit back,
and we lost one of our best killers.
but he went down fighting.
(violin music)
"Rest in peace steel spring Gopher trap.
we will fight on
and if when we are digging up the whole front yard, we come across your rusty remains
we will pick you up, oil you and put you right back in the fight.
you did good buddy ( oh and the coyote says thanks!)

--------------------------------------

On a serious note:
I like my books
maybe too much
I hate to part with them
but I love getting something in return
so I signed up with Bookins
where I trade in my books by shipping them to new owners, and get credits I redeem for a new batch of readables, Yay, take a look - I am featuring it all weekend.
maybe I will take a picture of Book Mountain, "the stuff I hope to one day read"

God bless you each and every one.

feathered friends

my friend shared this with me.
in my opinion, its the perfect
capture of sky, trees, and the
finch who makes his way through both
with ease and grace.
What a beautiful song, and what great colors!
