I will be in the bar..
Last night bought Thai food in abundance - to go and while it was being lovingly prepared
I had the bartender open a Michelob ultra ( tasteless, blech!)
as I sat there he asked to conduct an experiment on my taste buds
it involved distinguishing the difference between two types of tequila.
Not wanting to disappoint the young man, I obliged, and of course failed miserably.
seems the really good stuff has less bite, less flavor than the cheaper.
I sipped away for five minutes to the amazement of the bartender and his friends,
never getting to agreeing with them that tequila 'a' was better than tequila 'b'
Both were warming my throat nicely and were exquisitely free, so was I!
by now steaming "to go' boxes of pad thai and seafood was ready for me to grab and run.
Oh the heaven of that smell, it about killed me in the car..
and the tequila was more than I would have needed to off set the busy day that mom and I had at outpatient surgery ( see the fight notes below)
This morning's USA TODAY has THE O looking like the archbishop of Washington
and says something like "Hussein to rule and reign forever, we are saved"
something like that....
I chuckle, because I am still happy, and free ( for now)

and I guess I am (sorta) addicted to this internet/blog/ keyboard thingee.
oh and Michele's blog, famous for the "meet n greet" has closed.
it is kind of sad.
but not as sad as the people who ran GM into the ground.
Yes, Mr. Auto worker, you can kill the goose that lays the golden eggs,
but then you just have a dead goose.

The Haircut
One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asked about his bill and the barber replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop.
When the barber goes to open his shop the next morning there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.
Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The cop is happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.
Later that day, a college professor comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The professor is very happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber opens his shop, there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen different books, such as 'How to Improve Your Business' and 'Becoming More Successful.'

Globaloney
Yeah, its hot out there! somewhere,
and later it will cool off, Thank God.
and surprise, when the sun comes back up, it will get warm again, maybe really warm. Even uncomfortably warm. Let me tell you, it was cold in my room last night, darn cold.
but then, i climbed under three blankets and a comforter and warmed up just fine to sleep right on through the COLD night until my eyes popped open at 5:30 ( my ears opened first, haha) and made my way down to feed the infernal combustion machine that is my woodstove.
PRESTO - I had warmth.
all this to say... I have no idea about the Global warming and cooling cycle EXCEPT to say that it is a cycle and it does manage itself. THE BIGGEST source of heating of this planet is our own SUN and we need that, so until the eco- enviro- hollywood- leftists find the Thermostat for the sun, we are going to have cycles of global cooling and warming.
I am ok with that.
we should worry about other things that we CAN do something about
and then DO something about them.
SUPPORT kids clubs, coach a team, hug your children and tell them you love them.
Take good care of your parents when they are old.
AFTER THAT, if you can catch the emissions from a cow, and use it to boil some water, have a cup of tea, and read Ann Coulter ( side bar ) and here. She is funny, and brilliant ( like me!)

WEIRD!
Children of Men; what a weird movie !
So so so very political, so very graphic. The extreme barbarism of paramilitary violence and blatant racism/ immigrant phobic "Americans First" philosophy.
( the trick is it is in England, and the immigrants are Europeans)
They even had militant Muslims as 'some" of the bad guys.
I had to go see it, it was only $5, but i would not recommend it.
Way too "all over the place" for any one message to come through.
I am sure critics will rave, I give it a BIG TOE DOWN.
which means, "I could have slept through it except for the coffee I had this afternoon".

In other news, I am NOT claiming to be the father of Anna Nicole's baby.

Late breaking info, the crescent moon was Fabulous just before sunrise as darling daughter and I shared a moment before school, standing in our driveway, a powdering of snow at our feet, as she starts her 16th winter. Some day I must tell the story of her home birth. Remind me.
She's beautiful, she loves God and her ( weird) family. She is learning to drive (heart attack)
Pray for her Dad.
