from Joni Mitchell's Blue album
All I want
(Second verse only)
All I really really want our love to do
Is to bring out the best in me and in you too
All I really really want our love to do
Is to bring out the best in me and in you
I want to talk to you, I want to shampoo you
I want to renew you again and again
Applause, applause- Life is our cause
When I think of your kisses my mind see-saws
do you see- do you see- do you see
how you hurt me baby
so I hurt you too
then we both get so blue
I know I am light on posting this week.
I have been busy bugging other bloggers
to post to their blogs.
This makes sense, right?
I have to keep all these people honest, right
if you say you are a blogger, you must blog!
well if I am going to keep my current title
I must go out and carpent, now.
The rest of you, write something!!

I WAS WONDERING
If space aliens are so 'highly intelligent',
How come they are abducting farmers in overalls
off the seat of their John Deere's?
Wouldn't you think they would capture some
scientists, doctors, and college professors?
Hmmm
Maybe they are looking for pets and pick them like you
would a puppy, at the pets store.
"he's so cute, mommy can I have him?"
or worse
They are looking for well fed units that
yield a lot of protein and barbeque well.
"Don't pick those skinny ones, Zork, they are way too tough"
Just random thoughts, today.
Tomorrow I will try for something profound.
Like this:
Pray for good political leadership in the south as they spend billions to rebuild
also pray that my hat tree will give me a good crop of figs.

believing in anything
Is believing in something better than believing in nothing?
Well it is easier - since believing in nothing means you don't exist and neither do I and this post would be very short.
I am commenting on people who get to believing what seems to me
and some ordinary folk as a preposterous truth.
There are space aliens living on and visiting the planet Earth.
Unless you know my former neighbors there is no reason to believe in aliens.
Only if you shop at Walmart after midnight will you see anything that could be classified as "extra terrestrial".
This is not actually NOT a post about space aliens or those who have been abducted by them.
It is about unconventional belief systems that lead people to destruction, or at best emptiness.
If there is no truth, then we are all fine, including people who run red lights, steal from your home and cross borders without proper paperwork ( note the increasing severity of crimes)
If there is truth, it must be verifiable.
Ok - how do I verify that YOU have been in an alien spacecraft? Uhhhh
I posted a while ago about this man, Red Elk, telling about his vision of an apocalyptic future for the entire planet.
How do I argue with him?
Here's how:
"Dear Red Elk, may I call you red?
Thanks, cause like Red Skelton you are out of your mind. No he was more sane.
Sir, I mean, RED, when you are going without food for 69 days, you may expect to see things.
I went without food for three days and I was seeing chocolate eclairs! A curvy woman could walk in the room and I would see a clump of bannanas!
If she was really voluptuous I would envision cottage cheese ( so hate me ladies, I am hallucinating here). If you do not take care of your stomach, red, the brain WILL tell you that the end of the world is coming, because, guess what? For you, it is!"
Here is the bad news. The end is the world is coming.
and the good news????
You can be ready
Have one of two boarding passes ready and do not pack your bags.
Boarding pass one gets you on the mother ship with almond shaped eyes.
There they will stick probes in your orifices and take a bunch of dna samples so they can breed you.
Boarding pass two is Faith in Jesus Christ as your only Savior, and His death as payment for your sins. No matter what happens next, the people who have had the probes assure me it will be better than their experience.
I can't talk Red out of his evacuation plan, but I can offer you a better one.
When the big one hits, I am going with the Big Guy.
Hope you are along for the ride.

Sunday, 6am
Sunday is looking pretty good right now.
It is still brand new - no dings or dents as of yet.
I awoke a little after five but stayed in bed and watched the dawn break.
In the wee hours the crazies commune on Coast to coast AM - a radio show that used to be all Art Bell. I listen for a few minutes to assure myself that, relatively speaking, I have a sound mind. Hearing Red Elk prophesy the reexplosion of Mt. Saint Helens, and a 7.2 earthquake hitting Seattle, puts my mind at ease. I am more sane than people who are packing to leave Seattle based on Red Elk's vision.
My thought for them:
Where are you going to go? there is affordable land in Florida, maybe?
Tornado alley has some openings.
Can we sell you some California ocean view, that is sliding down the hill?
So I get out of bed. Not that difficult. Throw on the terry cloth bathrobe because its cool today.
Put the kettle on so I can make my coffee.
Then I push the truly magic button that connects me to all of you. Church starts in three and a half hours so I have time to write - and eat breakfast, while watching the rising sun cast shadows across the yard. When I need a stretch, I will spread some bird seed and fill the bird bath, and hope for a view of my favorite coyote. I'll stop by the place where I buried "Patches", my faithful friend of ten years, and miss him more than a little.
The Jesus Christ show is on and he is dealing out great advice with much love and confronting empty philosophy with tact and grace. I am digging (old sixties hipster phrase) the sounds of truth, and you can too, on the net, but only Sun from 6 am to 9am Pacific.
There are opportunities to serve my fellow man this afternoon ( work) and fulfill family responsibilities also. I hope to do both. The Los Angeles county fair will have to wait, and I will miss Crosby, Stills and Nash. With the advance of life extending medicine, they will probably come around again, even if they are in walkers and wheel chairs. Maybe I will get with the times and go see Hoobastank on another date. We shall see.
Right now the noisy Stellar's Jay is right at my window, screaming for peanuts, which I am out of, and needing to go to the store to buy.
Love to all who read here, double doses to those who comment.

My recent projects
Some people may think I blog for a living.
I don't. :-(
The four pictures below are of
one of my favorite projects, a remodel of
my best friends house. :-)
I have spent a lot of weeks there
and now we are homing in on
making the yard beautiful before winter returns.
It is only mine ( Joe) in the sense that I created
the deck, which is plenty good enough for me.
We changed some of the landscaping,
and are fixing up the wooden fence
where needed.
The dog is named Lucky!
