Our dog almost got into a tangle with a racoon the other night. As I was walking him, I failed to notice the shifty critter under the wheels of a parked car. The dog, of course, had no such issue, and bolted for the interloper. Had a heck of a time getting him back into the house, as schnauzers just love to hunt, apparently. Who knew?

Glad you like the tree pic! No tweaking at all. At certain focal lengths and in certain light conditions, my lens vignettes just a touch. I've got three lenses, but tend to use the 18-135 as my everyday one because it covers the vast majority of scenarios quite nicely.

I kinda like the effect. It almost imparts nostalgia.

We've only seen one of these in the 2-1/2 years we've been in the mountains. But that on was HUGE!

Was he/she really wanting to be friendly?

The wildest thing that goes through my backyard is Black snakes and Possums. And Emily after a couple margaritas!!

Great shot!

At work we feed droves of these Rascals at the dumpter along with flocks of birds.
They are very cute.
The rabies issue is what irks me about them-

doing its very best to look cute - notwithstanding the claws.
