Desiderata

who recalls these words:

"Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons."

from Max Ehrmann,

I think I will spend some time contemplating what may be useful to my walk, and do that right here, on Sugarloaf mountain.

Interesting isn't it to read the controvery over this piece of prose turned poetry, arguing over authorship and ownership rights, or making feeble attempts to change a few words. None of which could cast a shadow over the exceptional beauty and eloquent message in this piece, but comparatively speaking, lines up with our walk....and helps us draw understanding to things to be desired.

thanks for sharing; this is one of my favorite pieces.
