time to visit

Posted by Picasa

Our mom, spending time with us kids and the grandchildren.

I found this on the web site from my church ( attended 1981 to '83)

At the end of 1 Thessalonians 5:14, Paul sets the tone for our ministry to the problem people: "Be patient with everyone." Don't hurry them; don't be harsh with them; and don't drive them. Gently and tenderly lead them along. Watch your own behavior and leave the results to God.

Ministry to the problem people requires intimacy in fellowship. The church grows when the sheep help take care of the sheep--you must care enough to admonish the wayward, encourage the worried, and help the weak. That kind of ministry necessitates your involvement in other people's lives. When you commit yourself to that involvement, you'll avoid being numbered among the problem people; instead, you'll be part of the solution.

Grace to you is the web site and a radio ministry of John MacArthur Jr.
He spoke sound doctrine into my life for two years before I moved to SF to get married.
I thank God for the foundation I got while attending his church.

Paul spoke quite poetically. I like his words on love and once had that passage memorized for meditation.

Paul was very wise n set the standard for the churches which exist today. I'm reading thru his books one chapter per week, currently on 2Corinthians 4.

Being part of the solution is always preferable! Being apethetic solves nothing! very good words, even 2 thousand years later!

What a beautiful photo - the radiance of the light in her hair seems so *right*.

Pauls statement, and your commentary, seems like good advice for dealing with people in many situations as well as in the ministry.

It sounds like you've learned much - I love the statement 'when the sheep help take care of the sheep--you must care enough to admonish the wayward, encourage the worried, and help the weak'. There is so much power in that...

Thank you, and I wish you a happy new year!

1 Thess 5;14 is a great reminder forme. I deal with problem people all the time and get quite impatient and frustrated. Thank you David.

John MacArthur is my favourite speaker and author.
