after sanding and oil

This comfy rooftop chair was a thrift store find that had too much sun and sea moisture over the years. Sanding took down the roughness and removed the dirt. The teak oil absorbs ( can you hear that sucking sound?) way into the wood and gives it protection against water and some UV rays for the coming season.

I am sanding and scrubbing myself and applyng much oil, hoping to get the same results. So far I am grey on top, but increasingly brown below.
Summer time, and the livin' is greasy.

David, I'm not here via Michele, but on my own. 'Tis been a while since I've visited and have been catching up.

Fortuitous, too, as I've some patio furniture in Missouri which could use some work.

:)

Cheers.

That chair sure looks good now, David. Want to come here and re-do my metal chairs? Michele sent me.

Ooh, that's incredible, David! The chair is gorgeous and your work on it is fantastic.

I have two kids' chairs here if you get bored... *grin*

Thanks for stopping in, even if Michele did tell you to. It's always nice to see you.

aha, I have tricked you all with my new marketing ploy: Traveling furniture restoration/vacation.
I show up. eat all your food, drink all your beer and leave oily chairs behind, hehe

I always wanted to know how to restore furniture and sew, both of which I'm terrible at. That's a great chair and makes me want to sit down on my porch and sip tea right about now.

hey hey!!

Good to hear from you.
Love your chair... it would look great in my backyard. :)

I'm also a big fan of finding treasures like that, and giving them a new lease on life... as well as some lovin'.

Enjoy the summer!!
