who is on first

Thanks Dad, for doing all the small stuff so well.
When you taught me how to hit a ball,
I really learned patience that I now give as a gift to my own son.
While you saw me learning to catch a pop fly, I was really finding out about giving my time to someone smaller than myself.
Even today, when I hear your voice telling me to run hard and run straight for home, I know you are talking about a different game.
I am so thankful that God gave me you for my coach for this life.
You are a winner, Dad. I love you so much.

I always loved my Dad, what he taught me, including the rules of baseball, n he took me to RedSox games at Fenway-

Beautiful tribute to what it really teaches; your Dad's love, n the value of the game's attitude...

I never got a son, just daughters, but they've recently given me 3 (-4 any day now) grandsons to play b-ball with a bit later on...

Very moving David. I can't say anything else. I'm blubbering like an idiot. Excuse me while I go blow my nose now.

This is so sweet of you to thank your dad..

Made me teary also, my dad, as I think you know has dementia and is living in an aged care facility.. with each visit we always tell him we love him. He is looking at us blankly now and although he still recognises my mum and myself he does not anyone else..and this is very sad..

Great post, I haven't been by in a while. Timely too, thank you for sharing it.

Sorry I missed the MS Walk! Would love to have helped you get the T-Shirt or whatever the next level prize is. My mom has it, and has been in a nursing home for over 5 years. It's not a pretty disease. I'm grateful for outfits and people who put their support to this cause.

Thanks for your visit and comment!

I like this, david. I never really knew my real dad and my step-dad didn't do any of this kind of stuff...

But he still taught me well :-)
