friday fidget

I had a great walk the other night - it was late when there were few cars out and even less people.
Only a few dogs barked at me as I walked the empty streets under a star-filled sky.
I found something about walking that was neat: you think different thoughts that when you are driving. Take for instance I never looked at my fuel gauge and thought about how soon I would need to fill up and how it costs WAY too much to do so.

As I walked I noticed the feeling in my legs ( ouch) of stretching muscles and felt the warmth generated by the burning of calories. I noticed this most on slight uphill slopes. I could hear my breathing and the chirping of bats that flew overhead collecting insects.

I thought about my life, and how it's going, and that I seem more in control than I can recall in the recent past. ( This delusion could be from the strain of walking ) maybe its not MY control that I am sensing so much as my tuning in to the concept of order. Happy Friday!

Wow. What a great post. I mean it. I can almost feel the walk as you do it.

I should do that. Just get out and GO.

Well, if I didn't have 4 little ones wanting to tag along, and it wasn't 98.9 degrees outside....

Excuses, excuses, I know....

Thanks for commenting on my blog. And NOT reading that site! ;-)

I never thought of that, but walking thoughts are different from driving thoughts.

See, that is why I am kind of looking forward to moving... maybe we will be in a little bit flatter neighborhood!! I can't even ride the bike around the block without needing an inhailer... it is so hilly around here!! I went looking way out East today... nice and flat... but still have the wonderful view of the mountians!!!

Thanks for stopping by Crayons tonight!!

i think when your talking about your 'burning calories' and 'breathing' is the times in my life when im just so facinated about the very interesting creations we are, and how we work (or don't :P)!!

And i love to walk on star filled nights... especially in Summer... yup!

Glad you're doing better. I used to walk a lot before I got sick, now...not so much. But one of my absolute favorite things to do is to walk at night in a snowstorm, when the world is blanketed with thick white snow, and it's all silent outside and you can actually hear the snow falling. So romantic!

A very interesting concept. As you tune in to what the universe wants for you - control of your life becomes more easily available.

Hmmmm......Michele sent me (she and her gorgeous legs..LOL)

I like your sense of vision. This entry perfectly encapsulates it - and we would all do well to emulate your insightfulness.
