Ten substantial blessings

Amid the confusion and the fear,
despite the shame and embarassment,
there is a monument buried under the rubble of my life.

I can't see it now, for the overgrown weeds and debris
but it says something like this.

My mom and dad really loved their children
I truly enjoy being with my brothers and sisters.
I have truly loved and been loved
I climbed the highest mountain in the lower 48 with my dad.
I know without a doubt that I am a child of God.
There are three people who call me dad, and I love and respect them
for their character, their beauty, and their faith.
When the sun came up this morning I could see it.
The weather where I live is the best of anywhere I know.
(this morning at 6:30 I was out in shirtsleeves and a vest. )
When it does snow its even more beautiful, just colder.
Father God does not smack me off the planet when I complain and forget my many blessings.

Hi David,
I'm here to congratulate you on your choice on joining the Friends of the Friendless Marching Band. How about the bassoon for this time of feeling low?
We meet on Friendly Fridays to go visiting the friendless. See you then!

Oh, it is good to hear you count your blessings even when you don't feel like it.
