not unlike the Matrix

so here is what goes round in my mind, frequently.
All that we see with our eyes, and taste and smell and hear is a cover.
What we call reality is a thin paper wrapper that hides what is true and lasting and substantial. what we have in our human bodies is a soul and a spirit, yet we catch only glimpses of these because we are so distracted by the sights and sounds of this momentary world, the one that is passing away. Our bodies will fail; Eyes will stop seeing, teeth will stop chewing, legs will fail to walk or run, and some day you will not be able to hear the sounds of a stream, the ocean or the singing of birds outside.
What will remain is what you have in your spirit. If you allow God to renew you and dwell within you, then He will give you new eyes and new ears that hear what His spirit is saying and see what He wants you to see.

John 14: 16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

Fix your eyes on things above, listen to the Spirit

I think of the world as built by humans to be artificial. But the natural world as Creation.
Society dictating who gets what is totally incorrect.
This place is all we in our alive forms can realize, n must make the best of what we have to deal with.
We all have to find our soul, the Creator's spirit, and prepare to exit the material world when we are called away.
All we can do is try our best to deserve another life beyond this place while we are here.

I like your paper comparison.
