I hugged your mom today

I kissed her forehead and prayed

I laughed with mom today

Told her it was okay

That rest was a good thing

and sound sleep a blessing

Told her she was loved and needed

saw the fear in her eyes as it receded

I blessed our God today

that length of life and joy can be together

I thanked the heavenly father

for the gift that is our mother.
